On January 4, 2021, Alma Roberts went to meet her Lord at the age of 88.

Alma was born on August 25, 1932 in Hemphill, Texas to Tom Gray and Nona Ola Wood Gray.  She attended school in Yellowpine, Hemphill, and Stephen F. Austin State University and she was an ordained minister.

Alma married her husband of 48 years, A. G. "Mutt" Roberts on November 3, 1948.

She began a life of service to our Lord Jesus when she was 22 years old that will last beyond her life here on earth.  She opened a church in Beaumont, touching the lives of many people.  She pastored the Free Methodist Church in Hemphill, the Church of God in Longview, and the Church of God in Abilene.  During her career, she and Mutt worked at a children's home in Kansas City for three years.  They also fostered 35 children at their home in Yellowpine over the years.  She loved nothing more than sharing our Lord Jesus with others.

Alma is preceded in death by her husband, A. G. "Mutt" Roberts; her parents, Tom and Ola Gray; babies, Doris Jean and Terry Arthur; sisters, Maudie Weeks and Pauline Adair; brothers, Edward Gray and C. E. Gray; and granddaughter, Stacey Lynn Fore.

Alma is survived by her daughters, Annette Roberts and Tena Lynn Coulter and husband, Johnny, all of Yellowpine; grandsons, Johnny Coulter, Jr. and wife, Jennifer and Chris Coulter of Hemphill; four great grandsons, Justin, John Devon, Matthew and Tyler; one great-great granddaughter, Kenzlee; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Yellowpine Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.

To further celebrate her life, a memorial service is being planned for August 2021.
