Amanda (Pat) Alina Augusta Albers, 96, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill.

Pat was born in Frelsburg, Texas on February 7, 1925 to W. A. Klaus and Emily Kraemer Klaus.  She had worked for many years at Vidor Elementary School in the cafeteria where she enjoyed being around the children.  After retiring, she moved to Sabine County in 2004 where she enjoyed many, many hobbies including quilting, fishing, gardening, reading, puzzles, crocheting, embroidering and paint by number to name a few.  Playing Scrabble was her all time favorite thing to do.  She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was lovingly referred to as "Nanny" by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Tiner and husband, Joe, of Hemphill and Brenda Skibinski and husband, John, of New Caney, Texas; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and one more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Albers, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Burial will follow services at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Restlawn Memorial Cemetery, 2725 N Main St, Vidor, TX 77662.
