Anthony Joe Whitehead, Jr., 41, of Cleveland, Texas passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 in Kingwood Hospital.

A. J. was born in Montgomery County, Texas on November 30, 1979 to Anthony Joe Whitehead, Sr. and Deborah Holifield.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator and in his spare time he loved to go hunting, fishing, and camping, anything that had him outdoors.

A. J. is survived by his father, Joe Whitehead of Huntsville; mother, Deborah Wilkerson of Cleveland; wife, Kittie Whitehead; brother, Billy Joe Whitehead of Cleveland; grandmother, Ann Holifield of Cleveland; uncles, Wayne Whitehead and wife, Debra, of Hull, Charles Whitehead and wife, Debra, of Trinity, Melvin Ray Holifield and wife, Jackie, of Cleveland and Micah Holifield of Cleveland; and aunt, Evelyn Lawrence and husband, Dane, of Livingston.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Burtis Whitehead and Melvin Holifield; his grandmother, Martha Louise Whitehead; and aunt, Susan Jordan.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time.

Burial will follow services in Whitehead Cemetery in Pineland, Texas.
