Betty "Lucy" Lucille Giltner, 93, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 at her residence.

Lucy was born August 9, 1928 in Springfield, Missouri to Ellis Garret and Lexie Evans Garret.  She was longtime resident of Springfield before moving to Sabine County where she has called home for the past 30 years.  She had worked as a bookkeeper before her retirement and enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling with her beloved husband, Tom. She loved her Church and her Church family.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky Bernet of Hemphill; loving sister, Willie Long of Blue Springs, Missouri; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lexie Garrett, 3 brothers and 3 sisters and the love of her life and husband, Tom Giltner.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Oglessby, his staff and Harbor Hospice for all of their love and care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with Mike Toombs officiating.
