Betty Joyce Stroud, 80, of Jasper, Texas passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at her residence.

Betty was born on September 13, 1940 in Hemphill, Texas to Richard Arnold and Betty Dena Jones Arnold.  She attended school at Hemphill ISD and was a member of the graduating class of 1959.  She worked for many years as a Financial Counselor for St. Luke's Memorial Hospital in Lufkin, Texas.

After retiring in 2010, she and her husband, Reginald, moved to Jasper, Texas where she was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and of the church's decorating committee.  Betty enjoyed gardening and working with flowers and plants and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her husband, Reginald Stroud of Jasper; daughters, Lesia Jones and husband, Mike, of Kountze, Trenna Splettstosser and husband, Mike, of Jasper, and Dena McClelland and husband, Dallas, of Lufkin; sister, Patricia Ann Rogers of Denton; grandchildren, Brandi Heidemann and husband, Drew, of Cypress, Jarad Jones and wife, Katie, of Lumberton, and Jessica Glover and husband, Dusty, of Jasper; and great grandchildren Kolton, Logan, Destiny, Braydon, Madison Joyce, and Cannan.

Memorial services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with Bro. Malcolm Ellis officiating.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to service.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Jarad Jones, Boyd Peterson, Logan Havard, Kolton Splettstosser, Dusty Glover, and Dallas McClelland.

Cremation arrangements will be handled by Starr Funeral Home.
