Billie Joe Jones, 88, of Hemphill, Texas left this earth for her Heavenly Home on December 18, 2020 after a courageous battle with bone cancer.

BJ, as she was known to family and friends lived life to its fullest.  Her infectious smile could light up a room.  If you asked BJ what she enjoyed more, eating fish or catching fish at her favorite fishing holes on Toledo Bend Lake, it would be difficult for her to choose.  BJ also enjoyed traveling to Colorado and Mountain Home, Arkansas with friends.  BJ retired in 1984 as Director of Radiology Associates in Fort Worth, Texas.

BJ was born to Willie Virgil Jones, Sr. and Ruby Lee Kilgore Jones on November 25, 1932 in Alexandria, Louisiana.  Her parents, her brother, Willie Jones, and her niece, Kim Cripps preceded her in death.

She leaves behind her faithful and caring friends, Sandy Steele and Lisa Slate; her nephew and niece-in-law, Greg Cripps and Leigh Jones; great nephew and nieces, Cole and Ashley Cripps, Brooke Jones, and Christopher Jones, Jr.; great-great niece, Gracie Cripps; cousins, John and Rita Miller and Guy and Evelyn Kilgore; and many other dear friends and cousins.

The family would like to thank Affinity Hospice for all the care they gave BJ.
