Billy Moran Wise, 82, of Milam, Texas passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his home.

Billy was born on May 28, 1940 on the Sabine River at Moran Crossing in Sabine County to Robert John Wise and Melissa Ardell Neal Wise. He was a lifetime resident of Sabine County and worked as a welder most of his life.  He was a hard worker and loved people.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever he had time.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Carol Glenda Wise; son, Robert Glenn Wise; and brothers, Bobby Joe Wise and J. T. Wise.

He is survived by his sons, Ronald Moran Wise and Lisa of Hemphill and Richard Moran Wise and Darlene of Milam; grandchildren, Jana Wise and Chris Pate, Meena Wise, Adam Wise and Audrey, Ashley Strickland, Colin Wise, Heather Bell, and Chris Dickerson and Ashley; great grandchildren, Tristen, Dylan, Grace, Layson, Maleah, Zach, Peter, Gabe, Peyton, Wrenley, Kyla, Shayla and Bradyn; and several great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2023 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with Bro. Amos Hanzel and Mikey Bragg officiating.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to service at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will follow services in Moran Cemetery, Milam, Texas with Clint Caton, Sarge Bragg, Little Amos Hanzel, Randy Bragg, Steven Boren and John Wise serving as pallbearers.
