Carol Alice
Miller
Dec 12, 1947 — Oct 26, 2022
Hemphill
Carol Alice Shakespeare Miller, 74, peacefully drifted into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with her husband by her side on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in Hemphill, Texas.
Carol was born December 12, 1947, in Bessemer, Michigan to William Shakespeare and Alice Sandra Aho, both who preceded her in death. Two brothers survive her: Bobby Shakespeare and Ronnie Shakespeare. Two sisters also survive her: Barbara Shakespeare and Nancy Shakespeare. Carol attended Carson High School in California. With an adventurous spirit, she spent many years in Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky, Colorado, California, Montana, Oregon, and Florida, before finally calling Hemphill, Texas "home."
Carol spent the best years of her life with her loving husband of 30 years, Edward Charles Miller of Hemphill, TX. Two peas in a pod, they lived a love story that was a testimony of love and forgiveness. Traveling throughout the country as concession stand owners, they found many opportunities to minister to those in need. Active members of Community Fellowship of Fairmont, they found joy in the friendships they made while they continued to build their faith in Christ and each other. Carol maintained her steadfast faith until her last earthly breath. Next to her bed was her favorite bible verse, Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
As a single parent, Carol worked hard to make certain all four of her children had what they needed. She was incredibly creative and even made some of their clothing from scratch. She loved camping and always had ghost stories to keep their adventures interesting. She was a hard worker and taught her children invaluable life lessons along the way. Three children survive her: John Wayne Caster of Clarksville, TN. Billy Darrell Caster of Clarksville, TN. Elizabeth Louise Jones (Tommy) of Fort Myers, Fl. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Darrell Caster in 1991.
Carol's grandchildren have always admired her extraordinary crafting skills. It made the kids chuckle when Grandma was referred to as "The Scrubby Lady." She made crocheting look effortless and loved teaching her craft. She made both of her great-grandsons beautiful hand-crafted quilts after they were born, creating a beautiful memento they will always cherish. There is so much they will miss about her, especially the sound of her unmistakable laugh! Six grandchildren survive her: Renee, Alesandra, Tyler, Breanna, Montana, and Skylar. She is survived by three great-grandchildren: Faith, Jackson, and Emmett.
Carol is also survived by many extended family members and special friends.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 11am on Saturday, November 5 th at Community Fellowship of Fairmont, located at 3748 Fairdale Rd Hemphill, Texas 75948. Pastor Daniel Serenil will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the scholarship fund at Community Fellowship of Fairmont in Carol's name.
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel? Will I dance for You Jesus or in awe of You be still? Will I stand in Your presence or to my knees, will I fall? Will I sing hallelujah? Will I be able to speak at all? I can only imagine.
