Dwanda Jean McCroskey, 82, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Stone Creek Nursing Home in San Augustine, Texas.

Born on April 5, 1942, in Hemphill, Texas, to Jesse D. Warden and Kay McGee Warden, Dwanda spent her early years in her hometown before building a life filled with dedication and service. She worked for many years as a secretary for Orange Independent School District, where her contributions were valued by colleagues and the community alike.

After residing in Orange, Texas, for much of her life, Dwanda returned to Sabine County two decades ago to enjoy her later years surrounded by the beauty of East Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn McCroskey of Hemphill; and step-sons Jeffrey Lee McCroskey of Dallas; Scott McCroskey of Fairview, Texas; and Kyle Albert McCroskey and his wife Jennifer of Melissa, Texas.
