Jackie Charles Brown, 67, of Bronson, Texas left this world on Monday, April 4, 2022 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Jackie was born in El Paso, Texas on May 27, 1954 to J. C. Brown and Helen Gray Brown, both natives of Sabine County.  He attended West Sabine ISD until 11th grade when he quit school to go squirrel hunting.  He worked most of his life as a logger and spent a lot of time doing the things he loved like hunting, fishing, and camping.  He also loved his dog, Ranger, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Charles is survived by his children, Brad "Red" Brown and wife, Sara, of Stumptown, Texas, Cynthia "Sissy" Brown Cheshire and husband, Jacob, of Colmesneil and Angela Brown Petty and husband, Harlan, Jr., of Onalaska; step-son, Shane Leblanc and wife, Teresa of Pineland; brothers, David Brown of Port Neches and Bill Brown and wife, Debbie, of Pineland; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

A viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Little Flock Baptist Church.

Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022 in Little Flock Baptist Church with Bro. Curtis White officiating.

Burial will follow service in Little Flock Cemetery with Robert Brown, Malcolm Brown, Hubert Brown, Bradley Brown, Jr., Michael "Scooter" Sowell and Tony Ford serving as pallbearers and Levi Brown serving as honorary pallbearer.

Lunch prepared by  the community will be served following services in Little Flock Baptist Church Annex Building.  Food may be dropped off at the church prior to service.

The family requests that instead of flowers, donations be made on account to Starr Funeral Home.
