Jimmy Royce Thomas, 81, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at Hemphill Care Center.

Jimmy was born on March 24, 1940 in Hemphill, Texas to John R. Thomas and Lou Ida Chance Thomas. He attended Stephen F. Austin State University receiving his bachelor degree. Jimmy worked as an underground cable contractor. He was an incredible artist.

He is survived by his son, Jason Thomas and wife, Tina of Vidor, Texas; Julee Coon and wife, Amy of Kilgore, Texas and daughter, Tessa Cathey and husband, Chris, of Waco; niece, Delayne Griffin; nephew, Kevin Palmer; grandchildren, Brenon Coon and Caree Coon; and numerous great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Thomas and Lou Ida Thomas; his wife, Patricia Whittington Thomas; and his sister, Johnnie Lou Palmer.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill, Texas.
