Jodie Douglas Welch, Sr., 89, of Bronson, Texas passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 is CHI St. Luke's Memorial Hospital in Lufkin, Texas.

Mr. Welch was born in Bronson on January 19, 1931 to Hoyet Welch and Leona Williams Welch.  He was a lifelong resident of Bronson and a member of Centerview Baptist Church.  He was a self-employed logger.

Mr. Welch is survived by his sons, Billy Ray Welch, Jerry Welch, Tommy Welch, and Herbert Welch, all of Bronson; daughters, Teresa Welch of Bronson, Teresa "Bunky" Whiteside and husband, James, of Longview, and Frances Huffman and husband, Jim, of Hemphill; 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jodie Welch, Jr.; daughter, Pat Bryan; grandson, Jesse Ray Welch; mother of his children, Willie Mae Welch; and grandson, Robert Dewayne Hanhart.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2020 in Grapevine Cemetery with Bro. Pat Jacks officiating.
