John Wesley Eastham, Sr., 89, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Nacogdoches Medical Center, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

John was born on August 31, 1931 in Beaumont, Texas to Pledger Eastham and Mary McKinley Eastham. He was a Veteran of the U.S. ARMY, having served in the Korean War. On September 16, 1980 John married his soulmate, Gladys. He worked as a distributing supervisor through out his life working for Frito Lays and Flowers Bakery. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Hemphill. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and building things.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Gladys Eastham of Hemphill; sons, John Wesley Eastham, Jr. and wife, Phyllis, of Jasper, Texas and Terry Lynn Eastham and wife, Robin, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Crystal Lyn, Stephen, Hannah, Nickolas, and Hali; four great grandchildren and his loving dog, Sue.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pledger and Mary Eastham; and brother, Raymond Clyde Eastham.

A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel in Hemphill, Texas.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel in Hemphill, Texas with Bro. Alberto Williams officiating.

A burial will follow services in Yellowpine Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Jimmy McDaniel and Allan Andrus serving as pallbearers.
