Obituary

Johnnie Lou Patty, 83, of Milam, Texas passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at her residence.

Johnnie was born in Sabine County, Texas on December 13, 1936 to John R. Thomas and Lou Ida (Chance) Thomas.

Johnnie worked at many jobs over her lifetime.  In the mid 50's, she and her husband, Randell Wilson worked at Red Hills Lake until his passing in 1964.  The she married Bobby Palmer and became a teacher's aide at Hemphill ISD for a number of years.  She also was the secretary at the City Hall in Hemphill for a number of years and later became a dispatcher for Sabine County Jail until she retired and then began working at San Augustine County Jail.  After 30 years, she finally retired at the age of 80.

Johnnie loved her children more than life.  She always worried about both of them and when she did something for one of them, she always equaled between both.  She loved her fur babies, Goldie and Dusty and they never left her side.  She loved Christmas and Thanksgiving with her family.

She loved Monday Night wrestling and her favorite was Stone Cold Steve Austin.  Some of her favorite things in life were scratch off lottery tickets, slot machines, watching Fixer Upper and the ID Channel, shopping, Milam Settlers Day and Sale on the Trail with her kids, Troy Landry from Swamp People, and Blue Bell Ice Cream. Oh, and she loved getting surprises from her kids.  Anything from candy, ice cream and lottery tickets.  And she loved everyone and everyone loved her.

Johnnie is survived by her son, Kevin Palmer and Davon of Milam; daughter, Delayne Griffin and husband, Donald, of Rosevine; brother, Jimmy Thomas; niece, Julie Thomas; nephew, Jason Thomas; friends, Jo Ann Beasley of Milam and C. P. Taylor of Hemphill; and grandson, Chad Campbell of Bronson.

She was preceded in death by her parents John R. and Lou Ida Thomas and her husbands.
