Joseph Clinton Martin, Sr., 90 of Hemphill, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Kindred Hospital in Sugarland, Texas.

Joseph was born on June 14, 1932 in Ora, Texas to his parents, U.N. Martin and Sarah Alice Nolen Martin. He worked as a Utility Supervisor at Texaco. He was a member of the Park Place Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 872. Joseph enjoyed fishing, fixing cars and playing games like 42, Spinner and Kings in the Corner.

He is survived by his wife Norma Lee Martin of Hemphill; sons, Joe Martin, Jr. and wife, Jamye of Orange, Texas and Tommy Martin and wife, Missy of Fulshear, Texas; daughter, Tonya Martin of Kingwood, Texas; sister-in-law, Reba Barnett of Pineland; grandchildren, Clint, Lindsey, Ryan, T.J. and Ashley; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, U.N. Martin and Sarah Alice Martin and his son, Jeffery Martin.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas with Rev. John Bickham officiating.

Burial will follow services in Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, Texas with Donald Iles, David Barnett, Clark Barnett, Ryan Martin, T.J. Martin and Steve Crowell serving as pallbearers.
