Juanita Joan Sutton, born on January 4, 1947, in Hemphill, Texas, to Voris Virgil Easley and Mabel Alice Walker Easley, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, at Legacies Nursing Home in Hemphill, Texas.

Juanita dedicated many years of her life to Hemphill ISD as a custodian, where her hard work and commitment left a lasting impression on those she encountered. In her free time, she found joy in simple pleasures such as playing Bingo and fishing. She cherished moments spent with family and friends, especially over coffee on the back porch. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren play baseball, a pastime that brought her immense pride and happiness.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Titus Ray Sutton and wife, Janet, and John Oran Sutton and wife, Karissa; her daughter, Maria Bates and husband, Johnny—all of Hemphill, Texas. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Kristen Cox, Kelcie McCroskey, Brady Sutton, Chelsey Williamson, Samuel Sutton, J.J. Sutton, Corbin Sutton, and Tobias Sutton; as well as five great-grandchildren.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ronald Easley, Wayne Easley, and Ray Jean Easley; her sisters, Jeanette Ebarb and Rosalyn Easley; and her grandson, John Shannon "Shan" Cox Jr.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m.  until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral Services begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Curtis White officiating.

Burial will follow services in Springhill Cemetery with Artie Easley, Shannon Cox, Matthew Beckom, Luke Beckom, B.J. Ebarb and Jaxyn Sepulvado serving as pallbearers.
