Kevin Lynn Garrett, 58, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Sabine County Hospital.

Kevin was born on March 22, 1964 in Dallas, Texas to Jerry Lynn Garrett and Sandra Roberta Waugh McLeland.  He moved to Sabine County in 1975 where attended and graduated from Hemphill ISD also attended First Baptist Church.  He was a former member of the United States Navy and later worked for many years in the floor covering industry.

He loved fishing and hunting and he was a great cook, even though he liked things a little on the spicy side. He was a loving son to his mother and stood by her when she needed him most, became her caregiver.  He was a good guy with a great laugh and he would do anything for those he loved.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Sandra McLeland of Hemphill; father, Jerry Garrett of Senora; son, Gavin Lynn Garrett of Dallas; daughters, Ayla Hiller and Alyssa Hiller, both of Waxahachie; brother, Chris Garrett and wife, Dawn, of Missouri; sisters, Jennifer Benson of Sachse and Becky Mayoros of Panama City Beach, FL; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step-father who raised him, Don McLeland and his brother, Tim Garrett.

Memorial services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 in Point View Baptist Church, 110 FM 3039, Combine, Texas 75159.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill.
