Obituary

Larry Elliott Ancelot, Sr., 75, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19.

Larry was born to Chester Ancelet and Joyce Jones on November 11, 1944 in Port Arthur, Texas. He was the oldest of five brothers Terry, Chet,
Randy and Jay.

An avid sportsman, Larry was often seen golfing, hunting, fishing, or attending the events of his children and grandchildren.

Larry worked at Mobil Oil for thirty years before retiring as the Weld Shop Supervisor. In retirement, Larry enjoyed working outside and playing on Toledo Bend. He loved playing poker with friends and could often be found sitting on the dock or around a campfire telling stories that involved antics with his kids, grandchildren, past friends and coworkers. Larry was also a problem-solver. He was the "one" to call when something went wrong! He was always taking on projects or tasks within his home community that no one else wanted or knew how to complete. He worked tirelessly for the El Camino Bay Water Board and was always the one found at the bottom of the water leak hole! El Camino Bay neighbors became
family and the family that Larry leaves behind will never know another quite like him. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Larry is survived by his wife, Belinda Ancelot and stepson, Tyler Simmons, his three children, Larry Ancelot, Jr. (Phyllis), Sondra Lundvick (James), and Sheri Wilson, and grandchildren Shelby Wickersham (Brady), Kelsey and Kaylee Ancelot, Dustyn Wilson, Casey Whitaker (Adam), Rihana Lundvick.

A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2020 in Issac Lowe Cemetery located in El Camino Bay Subdivision. Flowers and condolences may be offered to the family through Starr Funeral Home at starrfuneralhome.com in Hemphill, Texas.
