Lisa Jean Steptoe, 53, of Lufkin, Texas passed away Monday, July 3, 2023 in Houston, Texas.

Lisa was born December 14, 1969 in Vandalia, Illinois to Edward Matthews and Dorothy File Matthews.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed going fishing, camping and to the beach and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.   She loved going to garage sales, looking to add to her collections of glass figurines and crystal trinkets.  She loved Christmas and made sure that her home was decorated for the holidays.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Dorothy Matthews of Woden; her step-mother, Reba Matthews; husband, Mitch Norman of Lufkin; son, Edward Lynn Steptoe; brother, Edward Geppert of Highland, IL; sisters, Casey Burns and husband, Randall, of Huntington and Amy Matthews of Greenville, IL ; grandchildren, Gaylon Lynn Steptoe, Edward Steptoe and Violet Rain Steptoe; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Matthews; and sister Leslie Matthews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas 75948.

Graveside services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in Sowell Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro Doyle Luther officiating.
