Mandie Odom was born April 14, 1924 in San Augustine County Tx to H.W. and Elizabeth Mott Bryan. She left this earth on April 06, 2021.  She was saved in Oct 1941 at Concord Church. That area is now under the waters of Sam Rayburn. Baptized almost a year later on August 23, 1942. Her growing up years were spent at Oak Grove. After her daddy died, she moved to Concord and lived in Grandpa Mott's cabin until she married. As a child she attended Lucas School, below Broaddus, and Concord school. She graduated from Zavalla high school in 1943. Married Roy D Odom in Oct of 1945. They were married for 54 years.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Canned the best snap beans and purple hull peas you have ever eaten. None could compare to her fig cakes. Her Christmas candy, especially divinity, was something to look forward to from one year to the next. She was a member of the Nedville Baptist Church in Jasper, TX. She lived most of her life in Jasper Tx. Working at TG&Y for 10 years. The last almost 18 years she lived with her older son in Gravelhill, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roy D Odom, her son WK (Buddy) Odom, 10 siblings and their spouses.

She is survived by her son Roy Glenn Odom, SR, (Althea) DIL Suzy Odom, 5 grandsons, 12 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandsons and SIL Edith Bryan.

Graveside services will be held in Concord Cemetery in Zavalla, Texas on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Swearingen officiating.
