Marlotte Leigh
Dunnam
Jul 25, 1966 — Oct 23, 2026
Plainview, Texas
She treasured time with her grandchildren and for some reason, she loved her husband, John.
Marlotte Leigh Dunnam, born Marlotte Leigh Hippler, passed away on October 23, 2026, at her home in Pineland. She was born on July 25, 1966, in Longview, Texas, to Clenton Earl Hippler and Jimmie Easley Hippler.
A lifetime resident of Sabine County, Marlotte devoted many years of her working life to serving others as a CNA. She was a woman of strong feeling and generous spirit, deeply passionate in the things she loved. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she found joy in the outdoors through hunting and fishing. She loved trips to the beach, and at home she enjoyed arts and crafts, working crossword puzzles, and leading devotionals. More than anything, she treasured time with her grandchildren and for some reason, she loved her husband, John. She moved through life with a spirit all her own, guided by her firm rules: no negativity and no crying around here.
She is survived by her parents, Clenton Earl and Jimmie Hippler; by her husband, John Dunnam of Hemphill; and by her children, Christian Hill and his wife, Abby, and Keith Hill and his wife, Veronica, all of Hemphill, Brittani White and her husband, Mark, of Bronson, and Courtney Hill of Rosevine. She is also survived by her brother, Mike Godsey and his wife, Beth, of Hallsville; by her sisters, Starlotte Ebarb and her husband, Joe, of Pineland, and Sharlotte Hightower and her husband, Josh, of Longview; many beloved nieces, nephews and friends; and by eleven well-loved grandchildren, who were among the greatest joys of her life.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street in Hemphill, Texas.
She moved through life with a spirit all her own, guided by her firm rules: no negativity and no crying around here.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Ronnie Shipman officiating.
Burial will follow in Lott Cemetery in Pineland, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Tanner Hightower, Tylan Hightower, Brandon Hearnsburger, William Kime, Juan Sandoval, Tyler Sepulvado, Antonio Pantoja, Mark Williams, Lennis “Bo” Rice, and Mike Godsey.
Marlotte will be remembered for her warmth, her candor, her devotion to those she loved, and the unmistakable way she faced life on her own terms. Her presence leaves a lasting imprint on all who knew her, and her memory will be carried forward with love.
