Mary Katherine Jordan, 81, of Pineland, Texas passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Herman Memorial Hospital in Houston.

Mary was born in DeQuincy, Louisiana on March 10, 1939 to John Allen Van Winkle and Ivy Gertrude Barrow Van Winkle.  She worked many years for Temple Lumber Company.

Mary had lived in Pineland since 1964, having previously lived in Brookeland.  She was a longtime member of Rosevine United Pentecostal Church where she enjoyed spending most of her time.  She also enjoyed working in her yard and in her garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Halbert Jordan; her parents, John and Ivy Van Winkle; her sister, June Williams and her brother, Alvin "Buddy" Van Winkle.

She is survived by her sister, Rose Martin; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Rosevine United Pentecostal Church in Rosevine, Texas under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Gordon Simmons officiating.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. prior to service.

Burial will follow services in Jacks Cemetery in Pineland, Texas with her nieces, Lola Ward, Sherry Bishop, Tina Pitre, Sondra Maddox, Kristen Cannon, Lauren Duncan, Haven Bishop, and Chloe Garcia serving as pallbearers.
