Mary Sue Key, 87, formerly of Bronson, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at her home in Livingston, Texas.

Mary was born in Bronson on May 19, 1935 to Oran Roberts and Florence Haley Roberts.  She worked for many years in the meat department for Big Chief Grocery.  She was a lifelong resident of Bronson before she and her husband, Alvin, moved to Livingston in 1999.

She loved to be in her yard working and gardening and she enjoyed painting ceramics.  And she loved to watch wrestling.

Mary is survived by her son, Alvis Key and wife, Penny, of Bronson; daughters, Kathie Nelson of Livingston and Jean Beavers, also of Livingston; grandchildren, Matthew Nelson and wife, Casey, Nick Key and wife, Tonja, and Marcus Key; great grandchildren, Felicity, Emmaline, Kasey, Kameron, Gabe, Jonnirae, Kysen and Addison; and great great grandchild, Huxlee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin Key; and her brothers, Paul Roberts, Troy Roberts and Roy Roberts.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Goodwin officiating.

Burial will follow services in Bronson Cemetery with Nick Key, Marcus Key, Kameron Key, Brandon Roberts, Matthew Nelson and Barry Welch serving as pallbearers.
