Ruben Mike Gomez was born January 29, 1931 to Mike P. Gomez and Olympia Guevara in Dallas, Texas.  He was called home March 17, 2022.

Mike was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and built a career with Murray Investments.  Together with Ruth, his wife of 69 years, he raised three children and after his retirement, devoted himself to caring for their son, Steve.  A man of few words, Mike took joy in simple pleasures.  As a lifelong Texas, he was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and an avid reader of the Dallas Morning News.  He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with friends and neighbors in the family's backyard pool.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth; his daughter, Cindy Gomez of San Augustine; and his granddaughter, Madeline Gomez and her fiancé, Christopher Pepe, of Brooklyn, NY.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Stephen M. Gomez and David P. Gomez.

A graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2022 in the Garden of Compassion at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Jones officiating.
