Mildred Marie Courtney, 83, of San Augustine, Texas passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at her residence.

Mildred was born on June 23, 1938 to Lee Wilson Rice and Amanda Doyens Rice.  She worked for many years in quality control at Temple-Inland before she retired.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and a member of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by her son Odis Courtney and wife, Pam, of Gause, Texas; daughters, Carolyn Chance and husband, Charles, of Rosevine and Eugenia "Honey" Wood of Rosevine and her companion, Rayford Welch; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Cleveland Courtney.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Graveside services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in Rosevine Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Todd Parrish officiating.
