Leonard Murry Kilgore, Jr., 76, of Pineland, Texas passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at his residence.

Murry was born in Beaumont, Texas on August 11, 1943 to Leonard Murry Kilgore, Sr. and Louie Poindexter Kilgore.

Murry was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.  He was also a 51-year member of Pineland Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Pineland Service Club and a member of the Pineland City Council.  He was employed with West Sabine ISD and transported children for many years as their school bus driver.

Murry is survived by his wife, Brenda Kilgore of Pineland; son, Jeff Kilgore and wife, Sandra, of Pineland; daughter, Trista Forney and husband, Early, of Nacogdoches; sister, Ona Lynn Arnold and husband, Thomas, of Nederland; and grandchildren, Breanna Kilgore of Pineland and Cody Forney of Nacogdoches.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Louie Kilgore.

Graveside services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2020 in Macune Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be his fellow firefighters of Pineland VFD.
