Rhonda Simmons, 62, ascended into Heaven Sunday, April 11, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on April 24, 2021 at Myrtle Springs Cemetery. Reception to follow at 2600 Geneva Sexton Rd., San Augustine, Texas.

She attended Texas A&M University on an Academic and full athletic scholarship in women's track. Rhonda was in the title business for 30+ years. She was top in her field, handling multimillion dollar real estate properties. Her passion was cooking, baking, and hosting for her loved ones. She will be most remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Shipley and parents, Bill and Donice Simmons.

She is survived by her son, Michael Shipley; grandchildren, Conner and Sidney Shipley; her dear friend, Lynn Shipley; sisters, Renea Simmons, Brenda Steptoe, Lesa Sandidge; brother-in-law, Donald Steptoe and Mark Sandidge; nieces and nephews, Carolyn Foster, Parker, Paxton, and Abbigail Sandidge.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Parker Sandidge, Jack Montgomery, Dane Thornton, Kylar Thornton, Josiah Cleere, Jaxton Zanek, and Jordan Arredondo.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the the Myrtle Springs Cemetery.
