Robert Earl Davis, 67, of Pineland, Texas passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at CHI St. Luke's Health-Memorial Hospital in Lufkin, Texas.

Robert was born in Converse, Louisiana on December 24, 1953 to Caleb W. Davis and Zula Mae Manshack Davis. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Temple-Inland Forest and then later as a truck driver for Ritter Lumber.  He had spent most of his life in Pineland where he was a member and Deacon at Bethel Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.  He liked to hunt when he had time He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Davis of Pineland; son, Jason Davis and wife, Kristen, of Texas City; brothers, William Marvin Davis and wife, Susan, of Hemphill and Truitt Davis, also of Hemphill; sister, Pauline Smith and husband, Philip, of Hemphill; grandchildren, Tanner and Emma; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Carraway officiating.

Burial will follow service in Bethel Chapel Cemetery in Pineland, Texas with Michael Davis, Josh Smith, Kevin Davis, Eric Napier, Douglas Durbin, Gregg Sepulvado, and Doug Welch.
