Obituary

Saran Fay Rhame, age 67, of Pineland, Texas, passed from this life to the next, peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on October 11, 2021.

Fay was born January 16, 1954 to Albert C. Coleman and Anna Marie Stanton Coleman. She married Doyle Dwain Rhame (Thumper), her husband of 52 years, in September of 1969. They started a beautiful life together. Fay and Thumper lived in Brookeland, Texas and had two sons, Dwain and Glen. In 1987, they bought their 110 acre property in Pineland and started to build their dream home, which is now known as the Rhame Ranch. Fay was a homemaker, she loved her family and she loved to cook. She didn't mind getting her hands dirty, though. Fay could work right alongside anyone, she loved to work in the hay field and she thoroughly enjoyed giving her granddaughters and nieces and nephews rides in her beloved John Deere tractor, that no one else could seem to run well enough to suit her. She enjoyed working in the garden, canning and cooking fruits and vegetables that she grew in her garden. Fay also found joy in raising cattle, she enjoyed the afternoon four wheeler rides with her family checking cattle. You could almost always find her around the farm, generally sitting in her rocking chair or porch swing in the evenings.

Fay was predeceased in death by her parents, Anna Marie and Albert Coleman; her two sisters, Sharon Kay Rolland and Eunice Marie Bailey; and her brother, Earnest Cleo Coleman.

She was survived by her husband, Doyle Dwain Rhame (Thumper) of Pineland; her sister, Rita Fay Elliott of Hemphill; her two sons, Allison Dwain Rhame of Hemphill and Thomas Glen Rhame of Pineland; her two granddaughters, Rebecca Rhame and Shelby Rhame, both from Pineland and her friend and grandchildren's mother, Kim Rhame; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
