William Dean Mouhot, 67, of Newton, Texas passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Harbor Hospice in Jasper, Texas.

Dean was born in Port Arthur, Texas on December 22, 1953 to William Charles Mouhot and Mittie Juanita Greer Mouhot.  He worked as an insulator for Insulator Union Local 22 in Deer Park, Texas.  He was a 20 year resident of Newton having previously resided in Bay City.  He was a member of Burkeville Baptist Church and also a member of the San Jacinton High Rollers.

Dean is survived by his wife, Valerie Mouhot of Newton; sons, Daniel Dean Mouhot and wife, Anna, of Nederland, Ronald Lee Bassell, Jr. and wife, Melony, of Conroe, and Alvin Quint Hammer and wife, Bianca, of Crosby; daughters, Delaina Marie Johnston and husband, Trevor, of Groves and Angel Marie Britton of Madisonville; sisters, Linda Graham of Bridge City and Sandra Irion and husband, Howard, of Nacogdoches; ten grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Burkeville Baptist Church, 1414 FM1414, Burkeville, TX 75932.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Burkeville Baptist Church under the direction of Starr Funeral Home with Bro. Van Lowe officiating.

Burial will follow services in New Hope Cemetery located at 400 New Hope Dr. in Milam, TX .
